Mrs. Caryn Swanson was born in Livingstone, Zambia, Africa in 1977, where her parents were missionaries. After coming to America in the early 1980s, she was raised in Dawson, Georgia, where she graduated from Terrell County High School in 1995. She obtained her Bachelor of Music Education from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas in 1999. After graduating from college, she moved back to Africa in 2000 to teach in Kapkirwok, Kenya. She has lived in Toccopola, Mississippi since 2004 with her husband, Nathan Swanson. She began teaching music for Holly Springs Intermediate School in 2007. She earned her Master of Literacy through the University of Mississippi in 2013, and completed her current certification for Mild to Moderate Special Education in 2015. She is currently teaching Special Education Inclusion in 4th grade.
